1. Not having the mind set of a winner. The greatest quality anyone can posses is optimism.
  • If you are unhappy, change it.
  • Remember 'The best thing about the past is, its over'. 'The best thing about the future is, you can create it'.
  • Think about your goals.
  • Think and talk in positive statements and thoughts.
  • Abolish all others.
  • Fail fast on a small scale first and learn quickly. You only have to win the last time.


    2. Not understanding the purpose of your business.
  • The purpose of your business should always be to enhance the lives of your customers. To make them feel as though you have helped to make a difference.
  • Why would they buy from you otherwise?
  • Will they return if you have not made a difference to their lives?


    3. Not testing and Measuring your results. All marketing is statistically predictable.
  • Once you have trialed and succeeded at a low cost you can repeat your campaign out to greater numbers with the knowledge that your results will also be repeated.
  • You can then make adjustments to improve your original campaign and redistribute at low cost again until you achieve the improvements.
  • Do not throw vast amounts of money at marketing.
  • Be obsessive about testing and measuring.


    4. Not using Pay Per Click Advertising.
  • Most major search engines now provide this service, the two biggest being Google and Yahoo.
  • Pay Per Click means you will be paying to get your ads near to or at the top of the internet listings.
  • You can spend as much or as little as you like and you don't pay unless someone clicks on your add.
  • This is the most focused method of marketing available in the world today. It operates by creating adverts that are formed by the key words you would expect people to type in when searching for your business or service.
  • Therefore the only people likely to find your ads are the people who are interested in your business.


    5. Not to give away something free
  • Whether you write an article, a newsletter, an e-book or give a free seminar or CD you must be prepared to show people how they can benefit from your products or services.
